I am Nono Guimbi

I am an Engineering Leader with over 20 years of experience in the tech industry. My expertise spans across various company stages, from leading tech giants like Airbnb and Slack to a diverse array of startups in San Francisco.

Throughout my career, I've embraced the philosophy that "It all starts with people." I believe that people are at the heart of everything, and investing in them yields the best returns. I have always aspired to make a significant impact in people's lives, and I am lucky to have a job that gives me the opportunity to do that everyday.

Over the past decade, I have developed a strong interest in mentoring because I realized the significant impact a mentor can have on someone's career. I began by mentoring other leaders who were embarking on their own journeys, and today I mentor both leaders and individual contributors. I help them gain clarity and build confidence by offering my perspective on the challenges they face and by creating actionable plans together that they can implement.

Two years ago, I decided to deepen my knowledge and became a certified professional coach to better support the people I work with. As a mentor, I can share my expertise and perspective on the challenges my clients face. As a coach, I help them gain awareness of who they are, their beliefs, their values, and how these factors impact their daily lives and work. I also assist them in shifting their paradigms and creating new ones that work better for them. A prime example of coaching application is helping individuals overcome imposter syndrome.

Over the past years, through coaching and mentorship, I have helped clients navigate various challenges, including transitioning to a new managerial role, dealing with a toxic culture, offering feedback, and building teams from scratch, etc.

I am excited to have the opportunity to reach more people through this platform.
